Finance Officer

Responsibilities

• Manage purchase orders, invoices, expenses, and supplier queries within the finance system
• Process BACS payments, credit cards, and petty cash, and complete bank reconciliations
• Handle bursary claims, raise sales invoices, and ensure timely income collection
• Support budget holders with monthly monitoring and reporting
• Manage the ParentPay system, including queries, debtors, and reporting
• Produce various finance reports such as trips, tuition, and consumables
• Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems
• Ensure compliance with academy financial regulations and procedures
• Manage the contracts register and support tendering and renewals
• Work with senior leaders to ensure value for money and effective spend
• Assist with internal and external audits

Requirements

• Level 3 qualification or above (A level or equivalent)
• At least one year of experience working in a finance department
• Experience working within financial controls
• Experience assisting with budget setting and budget management
• Strong MS Office skills and high levels of numeracy
• Good spoken and written communication skills for interacting with diverse stakeholders
