Finance Manager

Responsibilities

• Provide financial oversight for the Energy division within Fern Group, managing approximately 250 entities.
• Oversee the delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual management reporting.
• Manage energy cashflow, including revolving credit facilities (RCF), lender relationships, and covenant reporting.
• Lead the audit process and the delivery of statutory financial statements in collaboration with auditors and tax teams.
• Partner with business leads to support decision-making and provide advice on key transactions.
• Own the budgeting process for the energy division, reviewing and challenging assumptions across multiple entities.
• Research and advise on technical accounting matters, including new standards and policy changes.
• Manage and develop direct reports, including qualified and part-qualified accountants.
• Oversee group structure management, including entity rationalisation, strike-offs, and liquidations.

Requirements

• 3+ years PQE (ACA or ACCA qualification).
• Background in audit or financial services.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Experience managing and developing accountants.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and challenge effectively.
• High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
• A collaborative mindset and commercial thinking.
