Finance Lawyer

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with global and local legal teams to structure and execute complex commercial, finance, and capital markets transactions.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of legal documents, including loan agreements, export prepayments, collateral, guarantees, and securitization documents.
• Provide practical legal and commercial advice to the Cargill Trade and Capital Markets (TCM), Risk Management (CRM), and Treasury business groups.
• Manage relationships with outside counsel and oversee legal spend.
• Develop and maintain legal templates, playbooks, and workflow management systems.
• Strategize with business stakeholders and third parties to support business origination and goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in law with active OAB certification.
• Strong professional experience as a finance lawyer within a bank, trading company, corporation, or law firm.
• Deep knowledge of Central Bank of Brazil and CVM regulations.
• Solid background in the creation and formalization of Brazilian collateral and personal guarantees.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA, LLM, or Post-graduate degree in Banking & Finance, Corporate Law, or Capital Markets.
• Experience within the agribusiness sector.
• Experience with Investment Funds, Debt, Capital Markets, and Treasury structures.
• Experience handling disputes in Brazilian courts or international arbitration.
• Proficiency in Spanish.
