Finance & Business Officer

Responsibilities

• Manage financial resources and budgets, including forecasting, planning, analysis, and reporting
• Monitor department budgets to ensure expenditures remain within allocated limits
• Reconcile accounts and process accounts payable and receivable
• Analyze financial trends and prepare analytical reports and budget variance statistics for management
• Develop and revise business methods to improve administrative workflows and objectives
• Supervise and direct the work of financial and administrative staff and casual employees
• Provide sound financial advice and recommendations to the Director and Manager of Residence Life

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in finance and/or accounting
• Working towards a CPA designation or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of four years of related financial and administrative management experience
• Proven supervisory experience, preferably in a unionized environment
• Advanced proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
• Demonstrated working knowledge of financial or human resources software, such as SAP (FIS) or comparable applications
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing
