Finance Analyst-Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

• Prepare and draft bordereaux reporting for review
• Assist with journal entries and Insurance Premium Tax filing
• Implement GAAP standards and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) audit requirements
• Support monthly and quarterly financial close deliverables
• Review and validate insurance policies for accuracy in underwriting systems
• Assist in claims review and validate supporting documentation
• Manage payables including return premiums, claims, and refunds
• Record daily cash transactions and identify tax and forex components

Requirements

• BS in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or related discipline
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• In-depth knowledge of reporting packages and financial systems
• Knowledge of Great Plains general ledger
• Ability to work night shifts corresponding to Bermuda working hours

Preferred Qualifications

• Insurance industry experience
• Understanding of insurance terminology
• Basic understanding of project management concepts
