Field Technician/Inspector (Soils)

Responsibilities

• Perform routine field tests and collect samples on construction sites
• Conduct various field inspections for residential and commercial projects
• Manipulate field equipment including nuclear gauges, shovels, and sledgehammers
• Prepare daily data reports and draft reports for supervisor review
• Navigate uneven terrain and enter/exit trenches using ladders
• Maintain positive business relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers
• Care for and maintain assigned company equipment
• Advise supervisors of changes in work scope or potential budget overruns

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 1+ years of experience in grading inspections
• Possession of a nuclear gauge
• ACI Field Grade 1 certification
• Valid and current state driver’s license
• Reliable truck, van, or SUV to transport equipment and samples
• Ability to lift and manipulate 25-75 pounds consistently
• Ability to work in adverse weather and construction site conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• ICC Soils certification
