Field Technician (Mechanic)

Responsibilities

• Practice safe job practices for repairing equipment
• Use technology including laptops and tablets to manage work orders and track service intervals
• Travel to customer job sites to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment, and oil-free air compressors
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and on customer locations
• Work individually or with other technicians to set up and operate equipment
• Assist in training lower-level technicians
• Maintain accurate electronic documentation of work performed
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts

Requirements

• Must own tools applicable to the position
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
• Experience working on power generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment
• Experience calculating nominal/effective tonnage and/or kW requirements
• Ability to read and understand schematics
• High School diploma or Trade school certificate
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Must be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicles
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move, stand, stoop, and bend freely

Preferred Qualifications

• EPA 608 certification
• Experience in field service, maintenance, and repair
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements
