About the role
Responsibilities
- Practice safe job practices for repairing equipment
- Use technology including laptops and tablets to manage work orders and track service intervals
- Travel to customer job sites to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment, and oil-free air compressors
- Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and on customer locations
- Work individually or with other technicians to set up and operate equipment
- Assist in training lower-level technicians
- Maintain accurate electronic documentation of work performed
- Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts
Requirements
- Must own tools applicable to the position
- Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
- Experience working on power generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment
- Experience calculating nominal/effective tonnage and/or kW requirements
- Ability to read and understand schematics
- High School diploma or Trade school certificate
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Must be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicles
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move, stand, stoop, and bend freely
Preferred Qualifications
- EPA 608 certification
- Experience in field service, maintenance, and repair
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements
