Field Technician (Mechanic)

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment, and oil-free air compressors
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and on customer locations
• Use technology including laptops and tablets to manage work orders and track service intervals
• Maintain accurate electronic documentation of all work performed
• Assist in training lower-level technicians
• Practice safe job practices and adhere to OSHA requirements
• Assist with the pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts

Requirements

• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
• Experience with power generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment
• Ability to read schematics and calculate nominal/effective tonnage or kW requirements
• Must own tools applicable to the position
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move, stand, stoop, and bend freely
• Must be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicles

Preferred Qualifications

• EPA 608 certification
• High School diploma or Trade school certificate
• Experience in field service, maintenance, and repair
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements
