Field Technician II

Responsibilities

• Maintain high quality standards across assigned data center locations and remote Points of Presence (POP).
• Perform physical installation, repair, maintenance, and testing of network equipment.
• Execute rack and stack configurations, card replacements, and software upgrades.
• Provide site survey support for OSP/ISP projects and large-scale equipment deployments.
• Conduct site audits and reconcile data discrepancies in coordination with Network Surveillance.
• Manage local construction vendors to ensure compliance with installation and maintenance standards.
• Coordinate with Local Exchange Carriers (LEC) and other technicians to facilitate timely repairs and installations.

Requirements

• Associate's degree (A.A) or equivalent technical training with 2 to 5 years of related experience.
• Deep understanding of data center and POP infrastructure, including OSP, ISP, and cabling (fiber and copper).
• Proficiency with telecom testing equipment such as OTDRs, microscopes, and source/power meters.
• Knowledge of AC/DC power systems, environmental controls, and relay rack construction.
• Ability to work independently, diagnose problems, and travel as required.
• Experience using spreadsheets, project management applications, and Tier-1 ITSM platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

• Network+ certification.
