Field Technician I

Responsibilities

• Perform installations, fusion splicing, and network maintenance
• Diagnose and address technical issues within the network or at customer premises
• Provision, install, and troubleshoot internet, VoIP, and IPTV services
• Perform fusion splicing of fiber drop cables and manage splice enclosures
• Record customer data, light levels, OTDR readings, and internet speed readings
• Assist with network maintenance and equipment turn up, including generator placement
• Maintain high standards for work cleanliness, attic safety, and drilling safety

Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 1-year experience in a technical support role or related field
• Valid driver’s license to operate a company vehicle
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and carry up to 20 pounds
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with routing, switching, and fiber optic transmission basics
• Experience using tools such as OTDR, PON power meter, and VFLs
• Understanding of outdoor engineering prints and network layouts
