Field Technician I

Responsibilities

• Maintain data center and Point of Presence (POP) infrastructure, including physical installation, repair, and maintenance.
• Execute rack and stack configurations, cable management, and networking services.
• Manage Installation, Move, Add, and Change (MAC) requests for network gear and IT assets.
• Provide onsite technical support and troubleshooting for end-users, including computers and AV equipment.
• Manage service tickets and user interactions via ITSM platforms like ServiceNow.
• Oversee IT and network inventory, ensuring accuracy in asset databases and managing shipping/receiving logistics.
• Coordinate with network teams and local vendors for installation and maintenance activities.

Requirements

• Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• 0 to 2 years of related experience and/or training.
• Knowledge of data center and POP infrastructure, including cabling, power systems, and environmental controls.
• Experience with Google Sheets and workflow or project management applications.
• Understanding of how to use a Tier-1 ITSM platform.
• Ability to work independently and diagnose problems with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to travel to support remote locations.
