Field Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform standard fibre and wireless installations, repairs, and callouts
• Conduct fibre troubleshooting including splicing, testing, and dome management
• Perform wireless troubleshooting including signal testing and bandwidth validation
• Resolve basic network issues such as IP conflicts, firewalls, and routing problems
• Install and configure VoIP systems
• Maintain accurate project documentation and follow Health & Safety procedures
• Operate safely at heights and in confined spaces
• Complete accurate job cards and ticket updates for invoicing

Requirements

• Grade 12 qualification
• Minimum 1 year Fibre Optic splicing experience
• Minimum 1 year RF/Wireless experience
• Knowledge of network structures and crimping techniques
• Basic networking and computer literacy
• Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record
• Proficiency in fibre cable termination and fusion splicing
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments including lifting and climbing
• Medically fit and comfortable working at heights

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with fibre troubleshooting tools such as OTDR and fusion splicing equipment
