Field Service Technician

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators, and related components
• Perform preventive maintenance including panel cleaning, wiring inspections, and battery health checks
• Commission systems and upgrades ensuring compliance with NEC, AHJ, and utility standards
• Use diagnostic tools like multimeters and thermal imaging to assess performance
• Maintain accurate service logs, inspection reports, and photo documentation
• Follow strict safety standards including PPE, lockout/tagout, and fall protection
• Respond to emergency and warranty calls and communicate updates to homeowners

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; trade school or technical training preferred
• 4+ years of electrical experience in solar PV, battery, or generator systems
• State-required electrical certifications or licensing (e.g., journeyman or wireman)
• Strong knowledge of NEC, AHJ, and utility interconnection requirements
• Ability to read schematics and use electrical diagnostic tools
• Physically able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work on roofs
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record
• Strong communication and customer service skills
