Field Service Technician

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators, and related equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance including panel cleaning, wiring inspections, and battery health assessments
• Commission new systems and upgrades ensuring compliance with NEC, AHJ, and utility requirements
• Utilize diagnostic tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, and thermal imaging equipment
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and photo documentation
• Follow all safety procedures including PPE usage, lockout/tagout, and fall protection
• Respond to emergency service calls and communicate repair recommendations to customers

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 4+ years of electrical experience
• State-required electrical certification or license (Journeyman, Wireman, or equivalent)
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Strong understanding of NEC, AHJ, and utility interconnection requirements
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders/work on rooftops
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• Solar PV installation or service experience
• Battery storage or generator service experience
• NABCEP Certification
• Commercial solar system experience
• Trade school or technical education
