Field Service Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform daily preventative and corrective maintenance on enterprise communications systems to ensure maximum network availability.
• Maintain Motorola RF communications equipment, including repeaters, base stations, and antenna systems.
• Conduct RF site optimization using advanced analysis tools and perform trunked LMR RF site preventative maintenance.
• Provide technical support and end-to-end case management for issues generated by network monitoring and end users.
• Administer HP ProLiant servers, Juniper routers, Windows Server environments, and VMware virtualization suites.
• Manage spare asset inventory and perform regular audits to mitigate operational risks.
• Execute scheduled backups of critical data to ensure operational continuity.
• Collaborate with contractors and internal teams to resolve customer issues at the physical customer location.

Requirements

• US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret-level security clearance.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of experience in electronics, field service, or as a system technologist.
• Proficiency in Juniper routers and Junos OS.
• Experience with HP ProLiant servers and iLO administration.
• Experience with VMware virtualization suites.
• Willingness to relocate to Japan for an expatriate assignment.
• Ability to travel up to 25% annually.
• Willingness to obtain CompTIA Security+ or CISSP and ETA CET associate certifications within the first 6 months of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Motorola’s proprietary software and hardware systems (Astro 25, LMR, P25).
• Experience with RF infrastructure, radios, and consoles.
• Experience with McAfee security products and ePolicy Orchestrator.
• Juniper JNCIA certification or higher.
