Field Service Technician III

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent on-site analysis and repair of high voltage and high current test equipment
• Troubleshoot system faults on relay, PLC, and microprocessor-controlled equipment
• Perform on-site calibration and preventative maintenance services
• Remove and replace system components to accomplish necessary repairs
• Modify Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programs under the direction of an Automation Engineer
• Design and implement practical, on-equipment training for customers at worldwide locations
• Prepare detailed service reports, cost analyses, and quotations for parts and services
• Provide telephone support to assist customers with troubleshooting and equipment operation
• Travel approximately 30% of the time for domestic and international service visits

Requirements

• Associates Degree in electrical technology, electronics, or equivalent training
• 3-5 years of experience in a similar field service role
• Proficiency with electrical test equipment including oscilloscopes, multi-meters, and signal generators
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to travel internationally (valid passport required)
• Ability to work independently and communicate professionally with customers

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
• Experience with high voltage and high current test equipment
• Experience with Partial Discharge Systems
