Field Service Technician II

Responsibilities

• Test, maintain, and collect data on low, medium, and high voltage systems (480V–600kV) including breakers, relays, switchgear, cables, and transformers
• Run standard field tests such as TTR, insulation resistance, Power Factor, Tan Delta, VLF, and DC Hi-Pot
• Troubleshoot control circuits, relay logic, protection schemes, and SCADA signal integrity
• Read and interpret schematics, drawings, manuals, and one-line diagrams
• Maintain accurate reports, logs, and equipment calibration records
• Follow all site safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout, PPE, and JHA
• Mentor Tech I team members on procedures and safe practices

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in power systems testing, troubleshooting, or commissioning (480V–500kV)
• Proficiency with megohmmeters, TTRs, contact resistance testers, and insulation testers
• Strong understanding of NFPA 70E and OSHA 1910.269 standards
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and one-line diagrams
• Willingness to travel up to 75% across the continental U.S.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background and drug screenings
• Physical capability to lift 50+ lbs and work in outdoor, high-altitude, or confined space environments

Preferred Qualifications

• NETA Level II certification or active pursuit of certification
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Technology, Power Systems, or Mechanical Engineering
• Experience with PowerDB or similar test documentation software
• Possession of a TWIC card
