Field Service Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on field service work at customer sites, focusing on installation and basic commissioning of IEM equipment in data center and industrial applications
• Install and modify electrical and mechanical components and subassemblies, including panelboard interiors, circuit breakers, bus bar, switchgear sections, control components, power cabling, and control wiring
• Perform basic testing of modified assemblies such as visual and ductor checks
• Perform basic commissioning of switchboards, control panels, and power products
• Troubleshoot electrical circuits and networking equipment
• Coordinate with Technical Project Manager and manufacturing facilities to resolve field issues and identify additional resources or replacement parts
• Perform preventive maintenance, field installations, and modifications to existing equipment
• Attend project meetings and coordinate with contractors and clients as required
• Provide technical product support

Requirements

• Technical degree or equivalent
• 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, data center, or field service role
• Commissioning experience with LV/MV electrical switchgear (required for Level 3)
• Experience with switchgear and electrical controls systems (required for Level 3)
• Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams (required for Level 3)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as a team player
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision
• Willingness to travel 75% and work evenings and weekends when needed
