Field Service Technician

Responsibilities

• Commission power products and control systems for power system integration
• Perform preventive maintenance, field installations, and modifications
• Provide technical product support and troubleshooting at customer sites
• Coordinate with project engineers and managers to select replacement parts
• Conduct engineering site surveys to determine scope of field work
• Perform programming and service on complex automation and protective relaying systems
• Manage office workload and submit project documentation post-site visit
• Travel domestically and internationally for hands-on customer support

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience with Power generation
• More than two years of experience in field services with complex electrical systems
• Hands-on experience servicing, maintaining, commissioning, and repairing power equipment
• Valid passport and work permit for Canada and the USA
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within Canada and the USA
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with multi-function protection relays (Basler, GE, or Schweitzer)
• Experience with multi-function engine controllers (Woodward & ComAp)
• Ability to modify HMI screen and PLC ladder logic programming
