Field Service Technician

Responsibilities

• Determine reasons for product returns based on customer info, alarm history, or unit condition
• Troubleshoot problems to board component level and perform repairs/reworks to IPC standards
• Repair, upgrade, calibrate, and test medical instruments and electrical parts
• Use technical service manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams to determine disassembly and testing procedures
• Communicate repair information and failure causes to customers
• Identify and notify management of product complaints, assembly defects, or failure trends
• Train other technicians and inspectors on product maintenance and testing

Requirements

• Associate’s degree (AA), Electronic Technician Certificate, or equivalent technical coursework
• 3 to 5 years of related experience
• Proficiency in assembly and repair techniques for surface mount components
• Experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and surface mount soldering equipment
• Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and diagrams
• Basic PC and Microsoft applications skills
• Mathematical proficiency including algebra and unit conversions

Preferred Qualifications

• Lean manufacturing or Lean Service experience
• SAP experience
• Soldering certification
• Experience in an FDA regulated environment
