Field Service Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of biogas upgrading processes, compressors, and auxiliary equipment.
• Maintain, diagnose, and repair various OEM assets at client sites, including high-pressure reciprocating and screw compressors.
• Execute minor and major overhauls and conduct Factory/Site Acceptance Tests (FATs/SATs).
• Install, configure, and calibrate equipment while providing staff training on safe usage.
• Troubleshoot process issues both onsite and remotely as part of an on-call rotation.
• Prepare detailed field service reports and proactively manage materials and parts requirements.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors on-site to ensure service requirements are met.
• Comply with all Health & Safety policies and Quality Management Systems.

Requirements

• Engineering Degree, HNC, HND, or equivalent education and experience.
• Multi-skilled technical background (preferred 75% mechanical / 25% electrical).
• Strong technical knowledge of compression, heat exchangers, pumps, valves, and pressure vessel systems.
• Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams and drawings.
• Understanding of PLC operations.
• Valid driving license for travel within the UK, Europe, and occasionally internationally.
• Flexibility to participate in an on-call rota and call-out service.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to prepare technical reports.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in CHP Gas Engines, Biogas, Anaerobic Digestion, Marine Engineering, or Power Generation.
• Relevant certifications (we provide training for the following): H2S Awareness, DSEAR, COMPEX (Mechanical or Electrical), IPAF, or Gas Safe.
