About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist with commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing, and analyzing utility inverters in the field
- Develop detailed knowledge of SMA utility inverter products and associated accessories
- Maintain accurate inventory counts of spare parts
- Work with high voltage DC electricity, three phase power, and inverter software/firmware
- Maintain high customer satisfaction while managing field service costs
- Perform maintenance activities in accordance with product manuals and contractual obligations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field (strongly preferred) or equivalent renewable industry experience
- At least 3 years of experience in electrical, electronic, or network communications
- Ability to travel significantly (domestic and international)
- Ability to work nonstandard business hours occasionally
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in field environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in the renewable energy industry
- Knowledge of solar and/or alternative energy markets
- Knowledge of the National Electric Code
