About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide technical direction for the shipboard installation and overhaul of marine equipment, including steam turbines, pumps, trip throttle valves, and electrical generators.
- Offer engineering oversight to key clients during the disassembly, inspection, repair, reassembly, and testing of related equipment.
- Perform maintenance and overhaul activities on complex rotating machinery.
- Conduct technical troubleshooting and write complex engineering reports.
- Utilize tooling, machining, and measurement devices to ensure equipment integrity.
- Support overtime and weekend work as required by industrial project schedules.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, or 10+ years of experience in a related field.
- US citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance.
- Proven experience with heavy rotating oil-lubricated machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret assembly and machining drawings.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills, specifically navigating and generating reports in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a shipboard construction environment.
- Prior experience with maintenance and overhaul of steam turbines.
