Field Service Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site field tests at client sites including power generating stations, substations, and industrial facilities
• Conduct routine and special testing of power and distribution transformers, voltage regulators, bushings, and circuit breakers
• Execute specialized tests such as partial discharge (offline and online), EMI, dissipation factor, and voltage withstand on transformers, cables, and generators
• Provide engineering support and detailed written reports regarding the interpretation of measured electrical data
• Manage project logistics, including equipment preparation, troubleshooting, and inventory planning
• Travel domestically and internationally (approximately 50%-60%) to meet customer demands

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent combination of experience and training)
• Two years of experience in substations, power plants, nuclear facilities, or industrial power systems
• Two years of experience operating and troubleshooting electrical apparatus test equipment
• Two years of experience field testing power equipment such as transformers, generators, motors, and circuit breakers
• Two years of experience evaluating electrical test data for apparatus condition assessment
• Two years of experience producing technical customer reports and providing verbal/written technical support
• Two years of experience with domestic and international travel
• Valid Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with high voltage test equipment (resonant test systems)
• Experience with Partial Discharge equipment or Partial Discharge measurement
• Certified Infrared thermographer
• OSHA and NFPA 70 training
• Familiarity with radio frequency signals and measurements
