About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation, qualification, startup, and decommissioning of complex electromechanical semiconductor capital equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, upgrades, and repairs on semiconductor systems
- Troubleshoot electromechanical, pneumatic, vacuum, gas delivery, RF plasma, robotics, and microprocessor-controlled systems
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to isolate equipment issues and develop corrective action plans
- Implement engineering changes and field modifications through Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
- Collaborate with technical support, engineering teams, and customers to resolve performance issues
- Maintain detailed service documentation, maintenance records, and parts usage records
- Travel domestically and internationally to support customer operations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electromechanical Engineering or equivalent military technical training
- Minimum 4 years of experience supporting OEM semiconductor capital equipment
- Knowledge of wafer fabrication environments and semiconductor manufacturing processes
- Experience troubleshooting gas delivery, vacuum, and RF plasma systems
- Ability to read electrical, electromechanical, pneumatic, and gas schematics
- Proficiency with hand tools, oscilloscopes, and digital volt meters (DVMs)
- Ability to work in semiconductor cleanroom environments
- Ability to travel 25-75% as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting ASM semiconductor toolsets
- Advanced knowledge of closed-loop gas and vacuum control systems
- Experience applying structured problem-solving methodologies to complex equipment
- Strong customer-facing experience within semiconductor manufacturing environments
