Field Service Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Install, qualify, start up, checkout, maintain, and decommission semiconductor capital equipment at customer sites
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, upgrades, and repairs on complex electromechanical systems
• Troubleshoot issues involving vacuum, gas delivery, RF plasma, robotics, pneumatics, and microprocessor-controlled systems
• Diagnose equipment problems and implement effective corrective actions and ECO field modifications
• Communicate with customers and internal teams to resolve technical issues and minimize downtime
• Maintain accurate service records, parts usage logs, reports, and daily status updates
• Support cleanroom operations while following safety and PPE requirements
• Travel domestically and internationally as needed to support customer operations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electromechanical Engineering or equivalent military technical training
• At least 4 years of experience with OEM semiconductor capital equipment
• Knowledge of wafer fabrication and semiconductor manufacturing environments
• Ability to read electrical, electromechanical, pneumatic, and gas schematics
• Experience with gas delivery, vacuum, and RF plasma systems
• Strong troubleshooting and structured problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with hand tools, oscilloscopes, and digital volt meters
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Ability to work independently and in team settings
• Ability to travel 25-75% as business needs require

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting ASM semiconductor toolsets
• Familiarity with closed-loop gas and vacuum control systems
• Experience presenting technical action plans to customers
• Strong customer-facing experience in semiconductor manufacturing
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to identify spare parts and future support opportunities
