Field Service Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site startup, commissioning, and preventative maintenance of RUPS systems, including generator integration and flywheel validation
• Perform functional testing, load bank testing, and system synchronization to ensure performance specifications are met
• Troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical issues related to generators, flywheels, switchgear, and control systems
• Interface with clients, contractors, and internal teams during commissioning and acceptance testing
• Provide technical support and guidance during new installations and system upgrades
• Train junior field service technicians on startup, commissioning, and safety protocols
• Maintain detailed field trip reports and documentation for manufacturing and engineering teams
• Analyze system performance to implement improvements for efficiency and reliability

Requirements

• BSEE or MSEE degree
• Minimum 4 years of field experience with RUPS-UPS, rotary, or generator-based power systems
• 4 years of experience as an electrical engineer
• Proficiency in power/automation programming languages (IEC, Python, Java, SQL, HTML)
• Strong hands-on experience with rotating equipment and diesel generator systems
• Experience with electrical troubleshooting, relay testing, and load bank setup
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and one-line diagrams
• Proficiency with industrial power system controls and communication protocols (Modbus/TCP, OPC, DNP3, etc.)
• OSHA 10/30 and NFPA 70E certifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) License
• Prior experience in commissioning engineering or power systems integration
