About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide third-level, on-site automotive technical support to resolve complex vehicle diagnostic and repair issues.
- Act as a primary resource for GM's retail and wholesale dealership communities to reduce vehicle repurchases and warranty expenses.
- Manage escalated cases and provide product problem resolution through close collaboration with District Managers and Engineering teams.
- Evaluate dealership internal comeback processes and provide onsite service readiness feedback.
- Conduct ad-hoc technical training sessions for dealership personnel on diagnostic tools and Techline applications.
- Support wholesale operations by providing field product reports to Brand Quality and Engineering teams.
- Assist in dealership technician recruitment and retention by reviewing pipeline options.
Requirements
- Extensive hands-on experience in an Automotive Dealership Service Department or equivalent vehicle diagnostic and repair environment.
- Knowledge and experience with GM Essential Service tools.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
- 100% USA geographic mobility for current and future field moves.
- Ability to manage, document, and close dispatch cases within required timeframes.
- Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with dealership management.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10 or more years of automotive dealership service experience.
- ASE Certifications (A1-A9, T1-T8, L1-L3) and Master Technician status.
- Proficiency with Data Bus Diagnostic Tools (e.g., TIS/GDS, Pico Scope, INCA).
- Familiarity with GM Customer Assistance Operations and the GM Comeback Process.
- Vocational, Technical, or Bachelor's degree.
