About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical support owner for deployed robotic systems within assigned operational regions
- Monitor and analyze robot performance to identify trends and recurring failure modes
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and system-level issues
- Own field-driven reliability initiatives to improve robot uptime and serviceability
- Communicate actionable field insights to Hardware, Software, and Systems Engineering teams
- Lead validation and deployment support for new hardware, firmware, and system releases
- Develop troubleshooting methodologies, service procedures, and operational best practices
- Create and maintain documentation, incident analyses, and technical reports
- Partner with Engineering Operations to deliver technical training and maintenance procedures
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior field personnel and service technicians
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Robotics, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field
- 3–5 years of experience supporting hardware, robotics, or electromechanical equipment (or 1-2 years with an MS degree)
- Ability to independently troubleshoot complex technical issues across hardware and software
- Strong analytical and root cause identification skills
- Experience working cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, and Operations teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to travel and support deployed robotic operations as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting autonomous systems or robotics in production environments
- Familiarity with logging tools, telemetry systems, and debugging platforms
- Experience with scripting or automation tools like Python, Bash, or SQL
- Experience leading reliability or continuous improvement initiatives
- Working knowledge of root cause analysis methodologies like 5 Whys or FMEA
