Field Service Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support customer network deployments through engineering documentation, acceptance testing, and field implementation across Packet and Optical platforms
• Gather diagnostic information and perform initial troubleshooting of network challenges both remotely and on-site
• Contribute to network rollout and expansion planning for new and existing customer environments
• Develop and execute test scenarios to validate network designs, features, and performance
• Apply automation concepts using scripting tools to assist with configuration and operational tasks
• Collaborate with global, cross-functional project teams to ensure high-quality customer deliveries

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (B.E. or B.Tech) in Electronics and Communication, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related technical field
• 2–4 years of relevant experience in networking, telecom, or systems engineering
• Foundational understanding of Layer 2 switching (VLAN, STP)
• Understanding of Layer 3 routing protocols (OSPF, IS-IS, BGP)
• Knowledge of Optical networking concepts (DWDM, OTN)
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills and clear communication abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to scripting or programming concepts, such as Python
• Experience creating technical documentation or diagrams using tools like Visio, Word, or Excel
• Familiarity with telecom or data networking standards and specifications
• Experience in customer-facing or project-based technical roles
