About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation, qualification, startup, checkout, and decommissioning of semiconductor capital equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, upgrades, and repairs on ASM semiconductor systems
- Troubleshoot complex electrical, electronic, mechanical, software, and electromechanical equipment issues
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to isolate equipment issues and develop corrective action plans
- Implement engineering changes, field modifications, and equipment upgrades
- Respond to customer equipment issues with timely and high-quality technical solutions
- Collaborate with technical support, engineering teams, and customers to resolve performance issues
- Maintain detailed service documentation, maintenance records, and technical reports
- Follow ASM safety procedures and work in semiconductor cleanroom environments
- Travel domestically and internationally (25–75%) as required
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electro-Mechanical Technology, or a related technical discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of field service, customer support, or semiconductor manufacturing experience
- Strong troubleshooting skills with microprocessor-controlled electromechanical systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, electronic, and electromechanical schematics
- Experience with preventative maintenance, installations, repairs, and system diagnostics
- Working knowledge of oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters (DVMs), and diagnostic tools
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- English language proficiency
- Ability to travel as business needs require
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting semiconductor capital equipment in wafer fabrication environments
- Knowledge of vacuum systems, closed-loop gas control systems, and electro-pneumatic controls
- Experience with RF-induced plasma technologies
- Familiarity with robotics, motion control systems, and microprocessor-based controllers
- Experience handling toxic or flammable gases and chemicals in semiconductor environments
- Proficiency in structured problem-solving and root-cause analysis
