About the role

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation, qualification, startup, checkout, and decommissioning of semiconductor capital equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, upgrades, and repairs on ASM semiconductor systems
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical, electronic, mechanical, software, and electromechanical equipment issues
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to isolate equipment issues and develop corrective action plans
  • Implement engineering changes, field modifications, and equipment upgrades
  • Respond to customer equipment issues with timely and high-quality technical solutions
  • Collaborate with technical support, engineering teams, and customers to resolve performance issues
  • Maintain detailed service documentation, maintenance records, and technical reports
  • Follow ASM safety procedures and work in semiconductor cleanroom environments
  • Travel domestically and internationally (25–75%) as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electro-Mechanical Technology, or a related technical discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of field service, customer support, or semiconductor manufacturing experience
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with microprocessor-controlled electromechanical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, electronic, and electromechanical schematics
  • Experience with preventative maintenance, installations, repairs, and system diagnostics
  • Working knowledge of oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters (DVMs), and diagnostic tools
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • English language proficiency
  • Ability to travel as business needs require

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting semiconductor capital equipment in wafer fabrication environments
  • Knowledge of vacuum systems, closed-loop gas control systems, and electro-pneumatic controls
  • Experience with RF-induced plasma technologies
  • Familiarity with robotics, motion control systems, and microprocessor-based controllers
  • Experience handling toxic or flammable gases and chemicals in semiconductor environments
  • Proficiency in structured problem-solving and root-cause analysis
