Field Service Engineer 2

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, repair, and maintenance of complex Illumina genomic sequencing platforms
• Troubleshoot a wide variety of complex customer-reported technical problems
• Proactively monitor, schedule, and prioritize tasks to maximize instrument uptime and customer satisfaction
• Manage administrative tasks including SFDC case management and service documentation
• Independently manage accounts and build strong, long-term customer relationships
• Execute equipment upgrades, new installations, and post-repair validation runs
• Partner with product support and engineering teams to monitor product performance and drive improvements
• Maintain proper inventory levels of service parts and manage local rotational support

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience (or an advanced degree without experience)
• 2-6 years of relevant experience servicing complex instrumentation or direct experience with Illumina products
• Knowledge of the biotechnology or biomedical industry
• Familiarity with field optical alignments, robotics, electrical, electronics, and mechanical systems
• Technical proficiency in computer hardware, Windows OS, and networking
• Strong problem-solving, planning, and prioritization skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
