Field Service Electrical Engineering Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of electro-mechanical systems and CNC machine tools at customer manufacturing facilities.
• Troubleshoot and replace electrical systems including CNC drives, amplifiers, servomotors, PLCs, glass scales, and rotary encoders.
• Perform extensive domestic and international travel, including multi-week deployments for service projects and machine installations.
• Interact professionally with customer personnel, including maintenance technicians, supervisors, and machine operators.
• Document troubleshooting steps, findings, and repairs implemented to ensure thorough service records.
• Provide coaching and formal training to customer personnel regarding the efficient use and maintenance of Gleason products.
• Act as an on-site project manager during field installations, coordinating work tasks and managing project schedules.

Requirements

• Associates Degree in a technical program (A.S.).
• 3 years of experience in machine tool troubleshooting, repair, or maintenance.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics for hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Strong proficiency in Fanuc and Siemens control systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Willingness to travel approximately 80% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in a related technical field.
• Familiarity with SAP quality system tools.
• Experience with Concur expense reporting systems.
