About the role

Responsibilities

  • Establish relationships with new customers and secure contracts through direct and indirect sales methods
  • Drive the entire sales cycle from initial engagement to closing sales
  • Prospect for potential customers via cold calling, face-to-face meetings, and networking
  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline to meet or exceed established sales targets and quotas
  • Provide sales forecasts, presentations, and activity reports to leadership
  • Develop functional knowledge of company products, services, and logistics operations
  • Collaborate with station and operations managers to ensure customer needs are met
  • Maintain target accounts and input all sales activity into designated data systems

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain knowledge
  • Proven B2B sales experience with a history of achievement in a base plus commission environment
  • Experience closing sales at the executive level
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including PowerPoint) and web-based software applications
  • Ability to generate complex, error-free charts, graphs, and presentations
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or 10+ years of relevant experience in transportation sales

Preferred Qualifications

  • A "hunter mentality" with a self-motivated, entrepreneurial approach
  • Strong negotiation and persuasive communication skills
  • Experience transitioning from operations, account management, or customer service into sales
