About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage all field sales activities across the assigned Puerto Rico territory to drive market share growth.
- Focus on acquiring and onboarding new customers (80% of role) while servicing existing accounts (20% of role).
- Cultivate relationships across hospitals, IPAs, grupos médicos, Centros 330, urgent care centers, and private practices.
- Coordinate with Inside Sales, Equipment Specialists, and Field Service technicians to meet complex customer needs.
- Respond to customer concerns promptly and communicate opportunities to relevant internal teams.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the Puerto Rico healthcare landscape, including payer environments and government programs.
- Attend medical conventions, seminars, and training programs both locally and in the continental US.
Requirements
- Fully bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal) for sales calls, training, and correspondence.
- Two or more years of B2B sales experience in healthcare, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of the Puerto Rico healthcare market and provider purchasing patterns.
- Valid Puerto Rico driver’s license and a reliable personal vehicle for daily territory travel.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and CRM platforms.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and territory planning skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, life sciences, healthcare administration, or a related field.
- Direct experience selling into Puerto Rico medical accounts.
- Working knowledge of clinical laboratory workflows and lab consumables.
- Specialization in medical laboratory science or laboratory technology.
