Field Safety Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce compliance with safety policies, procedures, and legislation including OH&S, WorkSafe, and COR
• Conduct on-site safety inspections, hazard assessments, and audits for crews in remote locations
• Identify and correct unsafe behaviors or conditions immediately and document all findings
• Support the safety manager in investigating near misses, incidents, and injuries through detailed reporting
• Ensure proper use of PPE, tools, and equipment according to company and manufacturer guidelines
• Provide field coaching and mentoring to promote a strong safety culture and employee accountability
• Communicate regularly with management regarding safety performance, risk trends, and training needs

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively to remote work sites
• Strong knowledge of safety standards, risk management, and provincial OH&S regulations
• Ability to work in challenging terrain and maintain physical resilience in remote environments
• Commitment to the full tree planting season (mid-April through mid-August)
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
• Proven ability to work independently and make difficult decisions in isolated environments
