Field Safety Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce compliance with safety policies, procedures, and legislation including OH&S, WorkSafe, and COR
• Conduct on-site safety inspections, hazard assessments, and audits of crews in remote locations
• Identify and correct unsafe behaviors or conditions immediately and document all findings
• Support the safety manager in investigating near misses, incidents, and injuries through detailed reporting
• Ensure proper use of PPE, tools, and equipment according to company and manufacturer guidelines
• Provide field coaching and mentoring to promote a strong safety culture and employee accountability
• Communicate regularly with management regarding safety performance, risk trends, and training needs

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively to remote work sites
• Strong knowledge of safety standards, risk management, and provincial OH&S regulations
• Ability to commit to the full seasonal period from mid-April through mid-August
• Physical resilience and the ability to work in challenging, remote terrain
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in isolated environments
• Proven ability to make difficult decisions independently and enforce policies firmly
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
