Field Reliability Engineer

Responsibilities

• Investigate field failures and manufacturing non-conformances to determine root cause
• Build and read dashboards using Grafana, SQL/BigQuery, and Python to assess fleet health
• Track failure rates and produce Pareto charts to prioritize reliability efforts
• Decide when to dispatch field swaps or pull hardware for investigation
• Triage hardware returned from the field and characterize failures
• Develop tests and methods to recreate field failures in the lab
• Recommend design changes and drive supplier corrective actions
• Maintain detailed records of failure analysis and reliability assessments

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field
• Strong electrical engineering fundamentals
• Working proficiency with Grafana, SQL/BigQuery, and Python
• Experience with system-level testing and debugging of Battery Energy Storage Systems, power electronics, or complex electromechanical systems
• Familiarity with failure analysis techniques and materials characterization
• Proficient knowledge of electronics including PCBs, PCBAs, and electronic components
• Familiarity with reliability concepts such as failure-rate tracking and MTBF/AFR
• Hands-on problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with field-deployed hardware and RMA processes
• Experience driving supplier corrective actions and tracking performance
• Comfort working with both in-house and supplier-made hardware
• Strong communication skills for reporting findings to design and manufacturing teams
