Field Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for field identified quality issues across operating BESS assets
• Lead structured investigations into recurring failures, abnormal trends, or field incidents
• Perform root cause analyses using methodologies like 5 Whys, Fishbone, and fault tree analysis
• Develop and document clear problem statements supported by data and technical observations
• Define, track, and verify corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
• Verify effectiveness of corrective actions through inspections, audits, and data analysis
• Support development and tracking of quality KPIs such as repeat failure rates and defect trends
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve system reliability

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
• 5+ years of experience in field quality, reliability engineering, or commissioning support
• Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), power electronics, or renewable energy systems
• Experience working with field operations, O&M technicians, and service engineering teams
• Working knowledge of root cause analysis and CAPA processes
• Familiarity with field inspection procedures and commissioning documentation
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 40%
• Ability to perform physical tasks like climbing ladders, standing, and kneeling in industrial environments
• Availability to work weekends, nights, or on-call as needed
