Field Operator

Responsibilities

• Execute day-to-day field operations of a Steam Methane Reformer (SMR) hydrogen plant, including CO2 removal, PSA, and membrane units
• Monitor process variables such as flow, temperature, pressure, and levels through regular field rounds and local gauge inspections
• Perform equipment startup, shutdown, and commissioning activities following detailed work instruction procedures
• Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, including Lockout-Tagout (LOTO), permit-to-work systems, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements
• Conduct first-line troubleshooting to identify root causes of process deviations or equipment malfunctions
• Coordinate with maintenance teams for equipment isolation, purging, and blinding to prepare for repairs
• Maintain accurate operational logs, shift handovers, and production data to ensure seamless communication with DCS operators

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Chemical Process Operations (Associate Technical Degrees may be considered based on extensive experience)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in field operations within SMR-based Hydrogen, Ammonia, Methanol, or Syngas plants
• Strong technical knowledge of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, furnaces, and rotating equipment such as compressors
• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, for effective communication between operations and maintenance teams
• Ability to make sound decisions and maintain high situational awareness under pressure
