Field Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical duties within the scope of practice, including operating diagnostic equipment, performing EKGs, and administering non-intravenous medications
• Conduct specimen collection via noninvasive techniques, venipuncture, or capillary methods
• Prepare and sterilize medical equipment using an autoclave and perform quality control checks
• Room patients, prepare them for examinations, and record accurate patient care documentation in medical records
• Organize, stock, and clean exam and treatment rooms while practicing standard infection control precautions
• Assist physicians and nursing personnel with various clinical procedures and patient care coordination
• Perform telephone and in-person screenings for patient intake and information gathering

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED equivalent
• Current, nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification (or ability to obtain within 180 days of employment)
• Current BLS certification for healthcare providers (required at or within 30 days of hire)
• Basic computer literacy with intermediate Excel skills
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Valid Driver's License and access to reliable transportation
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
• Bilingual skills
• Strong communication and customer service skills
