Field Inspector - Grain Grading

Responsibilities

• Log-in, organize, store, distribute, and dispose of incoming samples
• Clean grain samples using dockage carter/sieves and prepare for grading
• Pick up and deliver samples between various locations and the office
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment including moisture meters, scales, and protein testers
• Perform analyses such as moisture, protein, dockage, test weight, mycotoxins, and germination tests
• Monitor and maintain basic laboratory supplies
• Clean work areas and maintain laboratory standards
• Follow Canada Grain Act, CFIA protocols, and SGS SOPs
• Issue initial and final inspection reports
• Assist in preparing on-site final analysis reports

Requirements

• High School diploma
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to work rotating shifts (8-12 hours) including days, afternoons, nights, and weekends
• Ability to travel outside the area for 2-3 days at a time

Preferred Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in a laboratory or agricultural setting
