About the role
Responsibilities
- Log-in, organize, store, distribute, and dispose of incoming samples
- Clean grain samples using dockage carter/sieves and prepare for grading
- Pick up and deliver samples between various locations and the office
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment including moisture meters, scales, and protein testers
- Perform analyses such as moisture, protein, dockage, test weight, mycotoxins, and germination tests
- Monitor and maintain basic laboratory supplies
- Clean work areas and maintain laboratory standards
- Follow Canada Grain Act, CFIA protocols, and SGS SOPs
- Issue initial and final inspection reports
- Assist in preparing on-site final analysis reports
Requirements
- High School diploma
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work rotating shifts (8-12 hours) including days, afternoons, nights, and weekends
- Ability to travel outside the area for 2-3 days at a time
Preferred Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in a laboratory or agricultural setting
