Field Evaluation Engineer

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety evaluations and testing of equipment in field installation settings
• Manage, execute, and report on projects requiring safety evaluations per national standards
• Perform field labeling evaluations in accordance with SGS CRS US Field Evaluation Body Program requirements
• Deliver well-written field evaluation reports and required documentation within defined time frames
• Communicate field evaluation report results effectively with customers
• Review customer responses to non-compliance letter reports
• Schedule travel and execute assigned evaluations to minimize time and expenses
• Perform occasional product testing in SGS laboratory as work dictates

Requirements

• Associates degree in Electrical or Mechanical field with minimum 2 years of relevant experience, or
• Technical degree or equivalent training with minimum 5 years of relevant experience
• In-depth knowledge of National Electrical Code, UL, NFPA Safety Standards, and SEMI S2 Safety Standards
• Ability to travel within and outside the US up to 50% to 75% of the time
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Internet skills
• Experience operating test equipment such as Multi-Meters, Amp Probes, Dielectric Testers, and Insulation Resistance Testers

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of European Machinery and Low Voltage Directives (EN 60204)
• Knowledge of Functional Safety Standards
