Field Engineer

Overland AI is transforming land operations for modern defense. The company leverages advanced research in robotics and machine learning to deliver combined capabilities for unit commanders, enabling ground vehicles to navigate off-road in any terrain without GPS.

Responsibilities

• Test, operate, maintain, repair, and refurbish high-performance autonomous off-road ground vehicles
• Support frequent weekly field tests
• Design and fabricate components or modify existing parts for off-road vehicles
• Assume responsibility for safe and efficient field operation of heavy machinery and complex equipment

Requirements

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or similar field, or 3+ years equivalent work experience
• Experience working hands-on with machine shop tools and welding

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with off-road vehicle operations
• Strong experience with vehicle maintenance, modifications, and operations
• Proficiency working with metal and woodworking tools
• Ability to collaborate and solve problems quickly in the field
• Willingness to travel to support remote testing, occasionally on short notice
