Field Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site leadership in health and safety, ensuring high-quality reporting and workmanship.
• Interpret drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision.
• Perform quantity calculations, material takeoffs, and basic engineering calculations.
• Assist in field surveying, work layout support, and the compilation of as-built data.
• Support office engineering tasks including RFI maintenance, submittals, and project recordkeeping.
• Assist in the preparation of work plans, purchase orders, and job hazard analyses (JHAs).
• Coordinate work groups, material deliveries, and subcontractor operations on the jobsite.
• Support estimating efforts by reviewing historical data and performing plan reviews.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• 3+ years of construction field experience.
• Proven experience in engineering and leading other engineers.
• Ability to read, analyze, and identify discrepancies in engineering plans and contract documents.
• Ability to travel and relocate as needed for project requirements.
• Ability to work in various outdoor climates and access all points of a construction site.
