Field Engineer

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary lead engineer on power generation projects, overseeing field operations and supervising field and office-level engineers
• Manage contract administration, project planning, scheduling, and reporting
• Interpret drawings and specifications for field crews and perform quantity calculations
• Assist in field surveying, work layout support, and the preparation of work plans and packages
• Perform material takeoffs, basic engineering calculations, and technical drafting
• Maintain project records including daily reports, RFIs, and as-built data
• Support estimating efforts by analyzing historical data and performing plan reviews
• Ensure jobsite safety through participation in reviews, toolbox meetings, and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) preparation

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field
• 3+ years of construction field experience
• Proven experience in engineering and leading other engineers
• Ability to read, analyze, and identify discrepancies in engineering plans and contract documents
• Ability to travel and relocate as needed based on project locations
• Ability to access all points of a construction site in various climates and environments
