About the role

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision
  • Perform quantity calculations, material takeoffs, and basic engineering calculations
  • Support field surveying, work layout, and the compilation of as-built data
  • Prepare work plans, work packages, and Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs)
  • Order and schedule material deliveries and coordinate work groups on the jobsite
  • Maintain project records including daily reports, RFIs, photographs, and correspondence
  • Assist in the preparation of purchase orders, subcontracts, and change orders
  • Participate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox meetings, and safety training
  • Enter data into job cost systems and assist with estimating and bid preparation

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field or engineering (or 6+ years of related field experience)
  • 3+ years of field experience in self-perform construction
  • Working knowledge of scheduling, procurement, and contract review
  • Proficiency with MS Office and relevant construction computer systems
  • Willingness to travel to various project locations within the Central US region
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required by project needs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with mass grading, excavation, drainage, or utility infrastructure
  • Experience with asphalt, paving, structural steel, or concrete forming
  • Experience in leadership of people and managing subcontractor operations
