Field Engineer

Responsibilities

• Assist in the interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision
• Perform quantity inspections by taking measurements and determining percentage of completed materials
• Assist in the preparation of work plans, work packages, and Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs)
• Support field surveying and work layout, including elevation and control points
• Compile, process, and confirm daily labor timesheets
• Participate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox meetings, and safety training
• Order and schedule material deliveries
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups and supervise field operations

Requirements

• 2+ years of construction field experience, preferably in Heavy Civil (roadway, concrete, earthworks, bridge, rail, or water)
• Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
• Ability to read and analyze engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to travel and relocate as needed
• Ability to work in various climates and access all points of a construction site

• Experience in engineering roles or leading other engineers
