About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary lead engineer on projects, managing contract administration, project planning, and site safety.
- Assist in the interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision.
- Perform quantity calculations, material takeoffs, and basic engineering calculations.
- Support field surveying, work layout, and the compilation of as-built data.
- Supervise field operations and coordinate work groups on the jobsite.
- Maintain project records including daily reports, RFIs, photographs, and correspondence.
- Assist in the preparation of work plans, purchase orders, subcontracts, and change orders.
- Participate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox meetings, and safety training.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- Licensed P.Eng. or registered member as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT), or eligibility to register.
- 3+ years of construction field experience.
- Ability to travel and relocate as needed based on project availability.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read and analyze engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Ability to work in various outdoor climates and access all points of a construction site.
