Field Deployment Lead

Responsibilities

• Own site preparation, robot installation, system integration, and commissioning at new European partner sites
• Lead Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) sign-off with partner technical teams
• Design and maintain operational runbooks, including error response, escalation paths, and consumables management
• Train and onboard contract operators and manage Tier 2 local service partners
• Capture field learnings, failure modes, and edge cases to provide structured insights to HQ Engineering
• Execute scheduled preventative maintenance and manage on-site spare parts inventory
• Cover on-site day shifts during the initial production ramp in Wolfsburg to build firsthand expertise

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related field
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in industrial robotics or industrial software deployment/commissioning
• Electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills (multimeters, oscilloscopes, VFDs, PLCs, sensors)
• Proven track record executing FAT/SAT processes at industrial customer sites
• Linux command-line proficiency and ability to read Python scripts and shell commands
• Basic Docker/container operations experience
• ROS or ROS2 experience or equivalent industrial automation background
• Strong documentation skills for writing runbooks and SOPs
• Experience training non-technical operators and managing external service partners
• Professional fluency in both German and English
• Valid driver's licence

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience deploying robots at automotive primes or Tier-1 suppliers
• Familiarity with ISO 10218, EN ISO 13849, or TS 15066 safety standards
• Experience with Flexiv Rizon arms, ZED cameras, or comparable industrial platforms
• Background in managing multi-site field operations
